KINGS POINT, N.Y. (March 27, 2019) – The Skyline Conference announced on Tuesday morning that senior Andrew Spinnenweber (Pasadena, Md.) was named the conference's Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 24. The honor comes after his performances in two of the Mariners' five games last week.
Spinnenweber earned the victory after tossing a 1-2-3 inning of relief with two strikeouts in the Mariners' 10-2 home win over Baruch on Tuesday and then came within an out of a no-hitter on Saturday at Farmingdale State, eventually settling for a no-decision after eight innings with just one unearned run allowed on two hits and 13 strikeouts. During that game, he became the USMMA career leader in strikeouts – he currently has 222 over his three-plus seasons.

The Mariners are back in action this afternoon with a home, non-conference game against John Jay College beginning at 4 p.m. at Lower Roosevelt Field. Live stats and a live video feed of the game will be available on the USMMA Baseball Schedule Page.
