Moore Selected As NEWMAC Co-Offensive Player Of The Week

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2017) – On Tuesday, the NEWMAC Conference announced its weekly award winners for football and USMMA senior quarterback Brice Moore (Pace, Fla.) was named the league's Co-Offensive Player of the Week. The accolade comes after Moore's performance in the Mariners' 52-17 road victory over Norwich on Saturday.

Moore led all rushers in the game with a career-high 229 yards on 32 carries, while also finding the end zone once. He had five rushes of 15 yards or more, including a long of 26 yards on the first play from scrimmage on the day. Moore also passed for 80 yards (3-for-7) and hooked up with sophomore Joe Vitelli (Warrington, Pa.) for a 59-yard TD pass in the third quarter.

The senior currently ranks third in the NEWMAC with 119 rushing yards per game, while his eight rushing touchdowns are tied for second in the conference. Additionally, Moore's 114.8 passing yards per game is good for fourth in the league and his 48 total points scored ranks tied for third.

Also ranking in the NEWMAC's top-five individually are Vitelli, who is the conference leader with 83.0 receiving yards per game, junior defensive lineman Charles Deegan (Huntington, N.Y.), who is tied for third in the league with three sacks, senior punter Erik Swayne (Great Falls, Va.), who ranks third in the conference with 38.6 average yards per punt and senior kicker Jake McDonough (Wilmington, N.C.), who is tied for fourth among NEWMAC kickers with 31 points.
