For Third-Straight Year, Football Partakes In Annual Jack’s Run For Autism Awareness 5K

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 24, 2019) – This past Saturday, May 18, coaches and student-athletes from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy football team participated in the annual Jack's Run for Autism Awareness 5K race. This was the third consecutive year that Kings Point Football took part in the event in Port Washington, N.Y. 

A total of 14 Mariners joined head coach Mike Toop '77 and quarterbacks coach James Kikel to partake in the 5K race. It was the 13th running of Jack's 5K in support of the battle against Autism.

Medaling at the event were Coach Kikel and senior Charles Deegan (Huntington, N.Y.), as well as freshmen Gavin Smith (Hinsdale, Ill.), Jonah Weltzheimer (Edmond, Okla.) and Matt Strong (Pacific, Mo.)
