The Mariners are entering this weekend's action having won four of their last five games. They sit at 7-3 overall on the season, including a 5-3 mark in Skyline Conference play under 27th-year head coach Tom Gill.

Junior Nick Treon (Danville, Pa.) leads the way offensively with 47 points (31 goals and 16 assists), while senior goalie Dave Ossing (Catonsville, Md.) has compiled a 5-3 record between the pipes with 67 saves on the season and classmate Chris Whitenack (East Meadow, N.Y.) has scooped up a team-high 72 groundballs – with most coming after his 95 faceoff wins. Defensively, freshman Nick Vinberg (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) has caused 12 turnovers to lead Merchant Marine.

The Bears' record is 7-4 on the year and they are 0-2 in the two NEWMAC games that they have played thus far. They are led by third-year head coach Ray LaForte. After a three-game winning streak to close out March, Coast Guard has alternated losses and wins in their last four games.

Freshman Riley McNulty has a team-best 40 points on 25 goals and 15 assists. Sophomore faceoff man Colin Cashin has won 141 draws and picked up 92 groundballs to lead the Bears. Classmate Trey Johnson has earned the decision in net for every game thus far this year and has made 83 saves. Sophomore Tom Bleifuss has led the way defensively by causing 13 turnovers.

This will be the third meeting all-time between the two schools, as Coast Guard just began sponsoring men's lacrosse in the NCAA in the 2015 season. The Mariners have won both matchups thus far – a 19-9 home victory in 2015 and a 16-13 road win up in New London, Conn., last year. The game is part of the two Academies' annual rivalry meetings in every sport for the Superintendents' Trophy.
