Tennis Falls To Drew On The Road On Friday, 8-1

MADISON, N.J. (April 26, 2019) – On Friday, the U.S. Merchant Mariner Academy tennis team lost its regular season-finale on the road at non-conference opponent Drew University, 8-1. The defeat drops the Mariners' record to an even 6-6, while the Rangers improve to 15-7 with the victory. 

Senior Daniel Zakrevski (Forest Hills, N.Y.) picked up the lone point for USMMA, winning his #2 singles matchup over Drew freshman Dan Blumenthal, 6-2, 6-3.

The Mariners have earned the #4 seed in the upcoming Skyline Tournament beginning next week. They will take on top-seeded Yeshiva University on the road on Wednesday, May 1. A time for the match has yet to be announced. The Skyline Conference will unveil the full bracket for the tournament later this weekend. More information on the tourney will be available on early next week.
